The Septuagint

When Jesus and the apostles quoted the Old Testament, they cited the widely used Greek translation of the Old Testament, which was translated by 70 Jewish scholars around 300 BC for diaspora Jews scattered across the Mediterranean away from Jerusalem. But most Christians do not have this Old Testament in their Bible. This video gives a high level overlook of the shift to what we call the Masoretic Text, which was a crucial part of Judaism’s survival in the aftermath of the death of Christ & the destruction of the 2nd temple. It help to reestablish the Jewish culture & tradition with new interpretations & translations that negated the Old Testament prophecies that were heavy indications that Jesus Christ was the Messiah.
